Recipe: Shakshuka

Shakshuka

This delicious dish made of onions, tomatoes and poached eggs is native to North African and Israeli cuisine and goes well with any meal.

Ingredients

Serves 4

Instructions

    • 2 onions
    • 3 cloves garlic
    • 2 tbsps olive oil

    Cut the onions and garlic into strips. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Add the onions and garlic and fry on medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes until golden.

    • 500 g tomatoes

    In the meantime, roughly dice the tomatoes and prepare in a bowl. 

    • 1 tsp chilli flakes
    • 1 tsp paprika powder
    • 1 tsp pepper
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • 2 tbsps tomato paste

    Prepare the spice mixture and add to the pan. Add the tomato paste, fry for a minute and deglaze with the tomatoes.

    • 2 piches of salt

    Salt the tomato sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes over medium-low heat.

    • 4 eggs

    Form small wells with the wooden spoon and slide the eggs into them. Put a lid on the pan and poach for 10 to 15 minutes on the lowest heat.

    • ½ bunch coriander
    • 8 slices bread

    In the meantime, chop fresh coriander and toast some bread. Sprinkle the finished shakshuka with coriander and serve in the pan.

Tip

  • If you don't like coriander, you can use parsley instead.

Das Rezept war gut beschrieben. Besonders gefallen mit die Icons. Geschmacklich 5/5 Gerade der Tipp ohne Koriander ist Gold wert. Als ergänzendes Getränk kann ich einen Gin Tonic mit Gurke empfehlen.
