Recipe: Marble Cake

Marble Cake

A slice of this simple, fluffy marble cake makes you forget all your worries. At least that's how I feel. When I taste it, childhood memories of past birthday parties are awakened.

  • total time 1h 10 min

Ingredients

1 Kastenform

Instructions

    • 4 eggs
    • 40 g sugar

Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with the sugar until stiff. Put the egg yolks in a separate bowl.

    • 200 g butter
    • 80 g sugar

Put the butter in a bowl and beat with a mixer for 3 minutes. Add the sugar and beat for another 2 minutes. Gradually stir the egg yolks into the mixture. Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.

    • 50 ml milk
    • 200 g flour
    • ½ pack baking powder
    • 1 pinch of salt

Stir in the milk as well. Weigh out the flour and mix with the baking powder. Fold in the flour and egg whites alternately.

    • 50 ml milk
    • 2 tbsps cocoa powder

Pour one third of the batter into a cake tin. Mix the other part with cocoa powder and the remaining milk. Pour onto the light batter and create the typical marble pattern with a fork. Bake for 50 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 °C.

Happy cooking and Mahlzeit!
